Holiday Party Decor

Create an elegant winter wonderland with a few simple decorations and serving pieces.

Activities

  • Holiday Match Game Ice Breaker - When guests arrive give them a slip of paper with a name or word written on it.  As they mingle and greet other guests; they need to find the person whose name or word makes a pair with theirs.  Here are a few to get you started:
    • Scrooge - Tiny Tim
    • Mistletoe - Kiss
    • Ribbon - Wrapping Paper
    • Stocking - Fireplace
    • Santa Claus - Mrs. Claus
    • Elf - Workshop
  • Name That Holiday Tune - Create a list of phrases from holiday songs.  Here's one- "Gosh oh gee, how happy I'd be".  Did you guess the song?  It's "All I Want For Christmas is My Two Front Teeth".  Read each phrase aloud and the first guest to correctly guess the song title gets a point. The guest with the most points wins the game
  •  Unwrap Gift Game - Wrap one gift box for every two to four guests.  If you like, you can fill the boxes with party favors.  Divide your guests into teams of two to four.  The object of the game is to be the first team to unwrap their gift.  However, there's a twist, with several options.  First twist is- the gift sits on a stool and if it falls off- that team automatically looses.  Additionally, choose one of the following options for all teams or give each team a different option:
    • Each team member wears an oven mitt and can't use any other body part to assist in unwrapping the gift.
    • Team members can only use their teeth.
    • All team members are blind folded, except one team member who can give the others directions.
    • Each team member can only use one hand (lots of team work required on this one).
