  Have an eggs-cellent Easter!!
A time for spiritual reflection and...Winter has finally come to an end!!!  Come out of hibernation and celebrate the season.  Invite the neighborhood, family, friends and have a mega-eggs-cellent hunt for everyone to enjoy!!  Of all the symbols associated with Easter "the egg" (the symbol of fertility and new life) is the most identifiable and used around the world.  The customs and traditions of using eggs have been associated with Easter throughout history.
  • Craft time, fun for Mom and the kids!  Cut out invitations in the shape of an egg using card stock.  Decorate the front of the invitation with glitter, jewels, ribbon... whatever you have on hand!  On the other side write all the party details, and be sure to purchase size appropriate envelopes.  Make each invite unique for a much appreciated keepsake.
Include a "wear your finest Easter hat" on your invite! Check out these fancy toppers.
Set the Scene:
  • Crepe paper streamers in spring’s pastel colors…fuscias, yellows & greens.  Drape and twist from post to post or across the room to form a canopy!
  • Set small baskets (with glass vases inside) filled with daffodils, tulips, and daisies around the room.  Use a larger basket and bouquet for the buffet table!
  • Simple paper napkins and plates in spring colors keep it easy and festive!
  • A buffet table draped with your spring table cloth or invest in a basic white to use for many parties to come.
  • Egg-stravagant hunt: Fill plastic eggs with candy and novelty prizes allowing 4-5 per guest.  Hide throughout your home or yard (depending on weather).  Give each guest a plastic easter bag to fill.  Everyone starts at the same time (you may want to give the little ones a head start).  The guest that finds the most eggs wins!
  • "Where are the carrots?" hunt:  Make 20 or so carrot cut-outs of construction paper and hide throughout your home or outside.  The winner is the one with the biggest bunch of carrots!!  The prize is one plush bunny
  • How many jelly beans in the jar: Fill an apothecary jar with jelly beans (be sure and count them ahead of time).  Ask each guest to put their guess-ti-mate on a piece of paper with their name.  At the end of the party announce the winner, who will receive the jelly beans... jar and all!
  • Easter Hat parade: The ladies parade their best "bonnet" in front of the guests and the one with the biggest 'hooray' wins!!

  • Baskets of flowers that you have used as decor can be given as prizes!
  • Baskets of candy and novelty items.
  • A jar of jelly beans (clear apothecary jar).   Target is one of our favorite places to shop for jars and other "good deal" home accessories.
  • Music CD’s (see music below)
Party Favors:
  • The plastic eggs that are toy and candy filled from the egg hunt.
Menu: It’s a buffet ... our favorite with a group!
