A gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to the city of Washington, DC in 1912 began an American tradition... Celebrating the springtime blossoming of the cherry trees.

This year's national celebration (101st) is March 20th - April 14th.

Invitations

Cherry Blossom invitations are easy to order from Paper Source...12 cards and 12 envelopes, and you print them yourself.

Set the Scene

Turn your coffee table into a chabudai (Japanese dining table):

Place zabuton cushions (floor pillows) around the coffee table
Set the table with black bamboo placemats, cherry blossom chopsticks, white linen napkins and square white plates
Scatter silk cherry blossom petals in the center of the table
Asian inspired, battery operated fuchsia colored lanterns placed around the room

As your guests arrive, have each person replace their shoes with hot pink straw slippers.
