The 100th Anniversary of the Indianapolis 500 starts at noon (ET) May 29th, 2011. Live coverage on ABC and the IMS Radio Network begins at 11 a.m. During pre-race ceremonies, watch Indy 500 past champions drive winning cars (including one that won the race in 1912!) around the fabled brickyard oval track.

Invite your friends, neighbors, family and racing enthusiasts to an afternoon of race viewing, game playing, eating, drinking and socializing.

Set the Scene

Make black and white your main color scheme, with splashes of green, yellow and red.

Float helium filled balloons on the ceiling to replicate Indy's huge balloon release

Mix and match dishes or paperware in green, yellow and red

Racing flags and checkered crepe paper will add racing flare around the party rooms

Before the race begins, warm up the party with a couple of quick games:

Who Can Name All the Drivers? The list is 42 participants long, although some of the drivers have yet to be named. We'll keep our Party Saviors Drivers List updated, so you'll have the latest information on race day.

Flag Signals - See if anyone knows all the flags used on race day. Details on all 9 flags is provided on the official NASCAR site.

The main event is the telecast race. Make sure all TVs are tuned to ABC and there is plenty of seating.
