A perfect 'go to' appetizer in the freezer...Buttery, cheesy and oh so delicious!
PREP TIME: 20 min.
COOK TIME: 25 min.
20 slices, thin white bread with crusts removed
3/4 lb butter
4 oz. blue cheese (room temp.)
8 oz. cream cheese ( room temp.)
1 egg, beaten
20 asparagus spears
Flatten bread slightly with a rolling pin.
In a small bowl combine blue and cream cheeses with the egg until well belnded and creamy. Spread a thin layer of the cheese mixture over each slice of bread. Roll one asparagus spear inside of each slice of bread.
Melt butter in a small saucepan. Roll each wrap in butter to coat. Place on a baking sheet, and place in the freezer for one hour or until the butter hardens. Remove the baking sheet from the freezer, cut each wrap in half crosswise. Store in a resealable plastic bag and freeze until ready to use.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Place frozen wraps on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 25 min. or until lightly browned. Check occasionally, turn if necessary for even browning.
